Next day got a blanket before housekeeping entered room. Upon our arrival back the blanket was not to be found. Ha ha ha. It appears they took it. There is a small chance they put it inside the duvet cover..as there was a blanket in there...but there was one in there earlier (thin blanket) and does not appear to be doubled in volume/weight via an additional blanket...but I cannot be sure. So either housekeeping was hilarious and took the blanket back OR they lovingly stuffed it inside the bare duvet cover...don't know. Either way we needed blankets so, another call to desk. Promptly arrived with 2 blankets! Yay! These are more right old style will like scratchy blankets with the satin ribbon edge. Not suoer cozy but will do the trick for warmth and weight.

Overall pretty happy but with some odd laughable things...hence 4 not 5 star

This Intercontinental was very disappointing. I had stayed there many years ago and had fond memories of that stay. However, the hotel is now in dire need of renovation, especially the guest rooms. I reserved a corner suite and the furnishings were very old and somewhat nasty in appearance. I wanted to spread a blanket over the sofa before I sat on it. Upon check-in we immediately went to our room and attempted to turn on the televisions(plural, as I had a one-bedroom suite). Neither remote control would work. I gave them to the front desk when we departed the room and they made the correction. Our room didn't have an ice bucket either. We made do by filling a plastic shopping bag with ice and placing it in the bathtub. Hardly a first-class image! On the fifth day of our six day stay we met housekeeping in the corridor and asked for a bucket. We were given one within a half hour but it did not have a top! Oh well, progress nonetheless! On day two of our stay we left the room about noon and asked to have it cleaned while we were out. Housekeeping never did clean the room that day. On day three we ordered roomservice for dinner. I selected a pasta entree. Honestly, I have had better hamburger helper. So disappointing! I purchased daily breakfast with the room and the food in the dining room was much better although, after eating the exact same breakfast for six days, it became a bit mundane. I will say the service was friendly and attentive. I used the business center a single time and had an issue with the computer. You have to pay for the usage and the computer stopped after about a minute. Maintenance was called but they said there was little they could do and referred me to an 800 phone number listed on the front of the computer. Who has time for this? All in all, my hotel stay was very disappointing. There are so many choices in Montreal and I walked by many other hotels that I had considered when booking. What can I say. I made the wrong choice this time!

Hotel is centrally located in Old Montreal. Has been easy to trudge around in the snow to sightsee. Room has controls for temp that work.

My suggestions is to get as high a floor as possible (facing south for a river view) and ensure to have your breakfast included as part of your stay. The croissants and fresh omelettes were exceptional. Do ask for a Montreal bagel if you do not see one out!

One of the worst hotel experiences of my life and I have traveled the world. We arrived late at night and went to check in only to find out that my reservation for a two bed non smoking room was not available. They offered me a one bed smoking room. I explained that I had my family with me and my young sons were allergic to cigarette smoke. They said all they could do was offer me two cots for my children at $75 per cot. I told them that is unacceptable and we would find accommodations elsewhere. The manager said that was fine but we would still be billed for two nights. I argued that they did not honor my reservation and I should not be billed and this jerk actually laughed at me.

Avoid this hotel if you want an honest return for your dollar.

We requested hypoallergenic bedding and on arrival the bed had 1 tiny pillow (10 inch?) And no blankets/comforter. The room was booked for 2 adults and a king bed. We laughed out loud at the puny pillow.

We had a deluxe room with a huge bathroom, a small fridge and plenty of room. I would love an extra sitting chair to stare out of the large bay window. The hotel is attached to the Montreal World Trade Center, is kiddie corner to the Convention Center and you have easy access to Place d'Armes Metro station.

We attempted to call the desk to request more pillows and the desk phone was broken and would not make a call. Luckily there are 2 other phones in the room and we asked for more. The lovely girl at the desk said 'did you look in the closet for pillows?' There was 1 more tiny pillow. So we requested 2 more. They promptly arrived. Not comfy pillows...more like soft rocks.

The pool is small but area is warm. However they close the pool at 730pm which is a huge downer. Did not see hot tub or sauna. A few treadmills and elliptical. One weight machine. The gym part is open later till 1030pm.

Nice rooms but they wouldnt let us into the pool, and closed it early. They were unapologetic about posting incorrect pool times.

Excellent location in Old Montreal. The service was exceptional and the breakfast was the best! We were in Montreal to see Les Geants (the Giants) to celebrate the city's 375 Anniversary. We stayed at the Intercontinental which was very conveniently located close to the Via Rail Train station. It was also within easy walking distance to the Old Port of Montreal, Notre Dame Basilica and great, great restaurants.

Upscale place. Pretty. Room is nice and spacious. Staff friendly and courteous. Breakfast is yummy and was included in our room rate. It is buffet style. They have scrambled eggs, scrambled egg bake with sausage bacon and cheese (get it). Breads, croissant, cereal, oatmeal, jams and jellies, cheeses and sliced deli meats. Never ending coffee. OJ and other fruit juices. 0630-1030.
