Great ambiance. Original food. Not authentic Japanese food. Western take on asian food. Excellent business model: target market=hipsters/corporate/government workers taking an extended 2 hours lunch break. Western restaurant in Chinatown. You won't see any asian there as it is not authentic Japanese food. Reasonable price for a bar, overpriced as a restaurant.

Strange food , nice atmosphere, great staff.... still a bit confused by Cantonese noodles that was spaghetti..... not sure how hipster food can make spaghetti into Cantonese noodles

I'm giving Rouge Orange 4 stars for effort, but honestly I felt it was overpriced, and I was underwhelmed. The interior is simple and tastefully somber. The service could not be better; each server taking the time to describe the ingredients in the dishes. But the food was so-so. We had the shrimp popcorn (since it was praised by other reviewers), the chrysanthemum salad, the dumplings, the calamari and the Shanghai noodles. The noodles were by far the least interesting. I honestly felt like I was eating spaghetti with chopsticks! The shrimp popcorn was good dipped in the house hot sauce, and the Calamari wasn't bad, again dipped in the hot sauce. The salad was literally just leaves and creamy dressing. Overall, the ingredients were diverse and fresh, the recipes imaginative and brave, but the end result was ... meh.
